Good for medium to coarser fibers. Not recommended for fine, silky fibers like cria alpaca or kid mohair.
Each comb has 25 polished, hardened steel tines (13 in the front row and 12 in the back row), 3/32″ diameter, about 4.25″ long, and set 1/4″ on center in a 4" wide unfinished hard maple head with a 3" working width.
The handle is made of unfinished hard maple and is 1" in diameter and about 5" long.
The tines have a long taper to a sharp point and should never need straightening with normal use. They are flexible enough to take abuse, and still bounce back to their intended alignment. They slant slightly back for the last 1″ to the tip which helps them pass by each other without interference.
