Good for medium to coarser fibers. Not recommended for fine, slick fibers like cria alpaca or kid mohair.
Each comb has 33 polished, hardened steel tines (17 in the front row and 16 in the back row), 3/32″ diameter, about 4.25″ long, and set 1/4″ on center in a 5" wide unfinished hard maple head with a 4" working width.
The handle is made of unfinished hard maple and is 1" in diameter and about 5" long.
Tines have a long taper to a sharp point. You don't need a straightening tool for these. They are flexible enough to take abuse, and still bounce back to their intended alignment. The tines slant slightly back for the last 1″ to the tip which helps them pass by each other without interference.
Total weight for the pair is approximately 18 ounces
